Following the death of 32-year-old Swedish police officer Christian Zedig as a result of a brutal assault in Copenhagen, several fundraising campaigns have been launched to support his family. Christian is survived by his wife and two young daughters.
One of the fundraising campaigns, which was launched by a 19-year-old Oskar Persson from Nässjö, has already raised over 500,000 kronor. The original goal was 50,000 kronor, but support has grown rapidly on social media.
Even the police and the opinion leader Mustafa Panshiri has launched a fundraiser to support the family. The goal is to provide financial assistance during this difficult time.
Strong public response
The fundraising efforts have received a tremendous response. Many people have wanted to contribute after learning how Christian Zedig stepped in to try to stop a fight during a World Cup viewing party, but was himself severely beaten.
According to several witnesses, one of the assailants reportedly jumped on Christian's head during the attack. The assailant is said to have been a man of immigrant background.
Christian Zedig's death has sparked strong reactions in both Sweden and Denmark. The fundraising efforts are seen as an expression of the broad support for his family.

I’ll say it again: the rocket scientist who jumped on Christian Zedig’s head should be sentenced to DEATH.
It would be nice if this murderer were sent to EL SALVADOR immediately.
VIVA NAYIB BUKELE forever.
