Blondinbella Defends Kasselstrand Following the Left-Wing Activist's Actions

The gesture has now prompted a sharp reaction from influencer Isabella Löwengrip—and she questions whether it was about hygiene or simply a way to signal political distance. The Influencer Isabella Löwengrip, known as Blondinbella, has come forward and criticized a left-wing activist who pointedly sanitized his hands after shaking hands with the leader of the Alternative for Sweden party Gustav Kasselstrand. Watch the video of the event at the bottom of the article.

The incident occurred during the filming of a YouTube episode where Kasselstrand debated with about 20 left-wing activists on the channel Studio 3. After the handshake, the activist took out some hand sanitizer and sanitized his hands while grinning at the camera.

”Childish display”

Blondinbella reacted to the incident on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote:

”I’m not a big fan of either Gustav Kasselstrand or the left, but is this really how you debate? Shaking hands and then pointedly pulling out hand sanitizer right afterward. It’s hard to believe that this left-wing politician suffers from severe OCD—it’s just an incredibly childish gesture.”

She thus questions whether the action was really about hygiene or whether it was, rather, a political statement intended to distance herself from Kasselstrand.

Symbolic gesture

The activist’s actions have sparked reactions even outside left-wing circles. Many have interpreted it as a condescending gesture toward Kasselstrand and the political right. Blondinbella’s post has gone viral and been praised by many who see it as an example of how parts of the left struggle to treat political opponents with basic respect.
