This is an opinion piece. The opinions expressed in the text are those of the writer, not Freedom News. We allow all opinions to be expressed, even if they are uncomfortable. We stand for real freedom of expression.
As the drums of war beat ever louder, surveillance expands and lies become commonplace in political rhetoric, resistance is growing among people who refuse to give up freedom. In this op-ed, Johan Nordquist sounds the alarm on this trend - and presents a concrete proposal to rally forces around three principles that he believes can save Sweden from a dangerous course: peace, freedom and truth.
These words peace, freedom and truth have been important watchwords for me in both thought and action for some time. It is therefore worrying to note that the opposite seems to be increasingly true in the public life of our government.
When I look at the war hysteria now so evident in our ministers, when I read about the plans to create biometric passports and introduce digital currency, the CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency), the perfect and total instrument of control, when I incessantly hear our ministers standing and blatantly lying to us citizens, this is clear evidence that we are moving at an ever faster pace in the totally wrong direction. We need a drastic change of course!
Let me try to describe the reality behind each phenomenon by illustrating its opposite.

Fred, is the prerequisite for a flourishing and life-affirming society. It is not just the absence of war, but actually having the wisdom to resolve conflicts without bloodshed, because it gives greater value to life itself, to appreciate all the wonderful, joyful, beautiful and fantastic things that are part of life. The opposite is war, something we seem to strive for more and more. War means death, violence, hatred, destruction, lies and fear - it is the opposite of all civilized behaviour!
Freedom, is when we allow human creativity to flow, when each person is free to develop their qualities and thoughts and express them to enrich their lives and their surroundings, when they can create their own living environment to the best of their ability without constraints from the state and authorities. The opposite is control, which means that outside forces or people try to steer the individual in a certain direction and inhibit the creative process. The ultimate form of control is pure slavery, where no room is left for the individual to decide on his or her own life. Freedom is therefore vital for human development and happiness.
Truth, is when people try to describe events and circumstances as they perceive them to the best of their ability and with honesty and integrity. The opposite is lying, when someone deliberately distorts actual events or omits important facts in order to influence the recipient of the message in a certain direction. It is thus dishonest and false and is what we call propaganda. When governments tell untruths, it undermines respect, trust and loyalty to society.
Something that it does not seem to care about as it is so frequent, but it is nevertheless very destructive when it is discovered or pointed out. To prevent this damaging process, it is important to expose the lies in order to prevent people from being deceived by the propaganda and to obtain a more accurate, truthful picture of developments and facts.
How should we put our foot down?
As we are now facing an election in September of elected representatives to both parliament and municipalities, I thought about how we can bring these watchwords and principles to the fore. I came to the conclusion that if all parties outside the Riksdag could agree to pursue these in a declaration to the people promising to work for Peace, Freedom and Truth, it could be a, lowest common denominator, which all small parties could sign.
Then all parliamentary parties would be asked to sign this Declaration to the People and act in accordance with its promises.
Since I believe that not many people would dare to make such a promise, it becomes clear that they do not want or dare to commit to this. Something that can be published and exposed in various ways against them. This could be a tool that makes people realize that they stand for the opposite - War, Control and Lies.
I hope the parties outside Parliament will use this opportunity to clarify what our elected representatives really stand for, which is precisely War, Control and Lies.

DECLARATION TO THE PEOPLE
In these turbulent times, it is important that our representatives clearly declare their commitment to the three fundamental objectives of a prosperous society, namely
PEACE, FREEDOM and TRUTH
As these objectives may come under pressure, there must be no doubt about the attitude of those who aspire to be our representatives. Therefore, we ask everyone who seeks our vote to sign this pledge to work towards these goals.
As PEACE is an absolute prerequisite for the well-being of our citizens, we hereby pledge to do our utmost to maintain the long period of peace that our society has experienced. Dialogue, diplomacy and the building of mutual respect and trust are the main tools to which we will devote ourselves in order to achieve the goal of continued peace.
Since FREEDOM for the individual is something that is increasingly threatened by the development of society, we hereby pledge to oppose the building of a control society, which in the future can be used to suppress the freedoms and rights of citizens, not least freedom of expression.
As TRUTH is a prerequisite for dialogue in a democratic society, we hereby pledge to make every effort to speak the truth, so that a problem description based on documented facts and science can be obtained. If necessary, invite experts with alternative views to reach a true understanding and avoid mistakes.
As a politician seeking the people's votes, I hereby sign this declaration containing the above promises.

None of the traitors in the Riksdag would sign. None except perhaps Elsa Widding. If all parties outside the Riksdag cannot support a joint statement according to Johan Nordquist, then they are just as much traitors to the people as those in the Riksdag.
Johan Nordqvist has my deepest respect. A man of honor, quite simply.
Very nice proposal. I hope that this initiative can spread!
As Petra Agapi suggested, all small parties outside the parliament should join forces and unite, precisely to get past the percentage barrier.
Very good and in demand. The three words can be summed up to common sense. This is generally lacking.
