Kristersson's solution to the child crisis: Build more houses

Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson links the record low birth rate to housing policy. He is now presenting several proposals to make it easier to start a family - from more detached houses to expanded IVF and simpler construction processes.

Sweden's birth rate is 1.42 children per woman, far below the 2.1 required to keep the population stable. Ulf Kristersson describes the trend as serious and says Sweden must start discussing why fewer people are having children.

- I am seriously concerned. 1.42 is a warning bell, no doubt about it, says the Prime Minister in an interview with Svenska Dagbladet (SvD).

At the same time, he points out that many people still want to have children, but that family formation is being postponed for longer and longer.

- I think there are a lot of people who basically want to have children. They think about it a bit too late or get a partner a bit too late, he says. .

More houses to make it easier to start a family

Kristersson's main proposal is to increase the construction of single-family houses and villas. He argues that Sweden has long focused on apartments and large residential areas, while demand for houses for families with children has been high.

- We have never come back to that kind of house building, for which we know there is strong demand and which is closely linked to family formation, he says. .

Now the government wants two ordinary wages to be enough to buy and live in a house. Kristersson is also opening up for government money to get municipalities to free up more land for house building. At the same time, he wants to shorten long appeal processes that slow down new housing projects.

- Everything is appealed to the mildest degree, he says. .

IVF is being expanded

The government has already doubled the number of state-subsidized IVF trials (IVF stands for in vitro fertilization, also known as in vitro fertilization) from three to six. Now the Moderates also want to increase support for so-called sibling experiments. Kristersson describes the initiatives as a way to make it easier for people who want to start a family - and sees the issue as important for Sweden's future.

- I think that a society where people want to bring children into the world is basically a sign of a society that works pretty well, he says.

The solution presented by Kristersson is different from the one usually advocated by the establishment: the declining birth rate should be compensated for by mass immigration. Through alternatives that encourage Swedes to have children, a clear alternative has now been presented.

  1. But Mr. Kvistenson:
Those who Svt and Mr. Kvistenson's cronies, with great diligence and advertising campaigns, honked in the fox poison are sterile now.
Nature will thus take these poor, deluded people out of the range. The lifeline wiped out.

No more villas will help here.
However, criminal liability for all involved is required.
And that thing is getting closer.

  2. Smygbögen Kristersson is just so stupid does he not realize that people hesitate to have children in this shitty society that the 8-cloven has created.I remember my own childhood in the 40-50s how peaceful and safe it was and the parents could afford to build a house with only one working but now taxes steal most of the salary. And that money goes to support overpaid politicians and bureaucrats and to finance wars in other countries does not feel so safe with children then.

  3. How will villas help those who arrive a little late or meet a partner a little late to have children?

When I and everyone I know had children in 1990-2001, we didn't need houses, we bred in apartments. Kristersson will probably have to let his brain cell spin a couple more times and see if it can come up with a better lie.
