Teodorescu Måwe met with the Pope - this is what she chose to talk about

Alice Teodorescu Måwe was granted an audience with the Pope at the Vatican - and chose to use the meeting to speak about anti-Semitism. This comes at a time when Christian leaders are warning of increased pressure on Catholics in Israel. Questions are now being raised about why this was the most important issue she wanted to raise.

The KD top Alice Teodorescu Måwe after her meeting with the Pope at the Vatican. After the audience, she said she took off her so-called Be a human beingpin, handed it to the Pope and urged him to raise anti-Semitism before the world.

”I took the opportunity to ask him to remind the world how anti-Semitism destroys people, countries, principles”, she writes herself on X after the meeting.

Gave the Pope a symbol - and a message

Teodorescu Måwe described the meeting as ”goosebump-inducing” and made it clear that she used the brief contact with the Pope to push this particular issue. A user on X tartly comments on the incident as the Pope receiving ”a little audience and a rebuke from Alice”.

The pin she gave the Pope had the text Be a human being. The word ”human” comes from Yiddish and means something like an honest and decent person.

But critics argue that the button here had a different message. They say it is used to signal that those who support Israel are on the morally right side, and that criticism of Israel is thus portrayed as wrong or suspect.

Since Teodorescu Måwe has long been a strong pro-Israel campaigner, many observers believe that the button was not just a general symbol of goodness. Instead, they see it as an expression of uncritical and almost fanatical loyalty to Israel.

Choosing anti-Semitism over the plight of Christians

The statement comes at a time when Christian leaders have raised the alarm about increased attacks against Christians in Israel and Jerusalem. Just weeks earlier was stopped Jerusalem's Latin Patriarch from holding Palm Sunday mass in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre after intervention by Israeli police. The church called it: ”a manifestly unreasonable and grossly disproportionate measure.”

In a joint press release, the Church stated: ”For the first time in centuries, Church leaders were prevented from celebrating Palm Sunday Mass in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.”

Critics question the priority

The fact that Teodorescu Måwe did not raise the plight of Christians in her meeting with the head of the Catholic Church has triggered criticism.

On X writes one user: ”You get the chance to meet the Pope and you choose to talk about anti-Semitism. It's actually insane how shameless and dishonorable a politician can be. You don't even try to hide it anymore Alice. Bought by Israel”

Against this background, the question grows why a Swedish Christian Democrat in the meeting with the Pope chose to prioritize anti-Semitism, but not the Christians and Catholics who are simultaneously harassed in Israel.

- To meet the Holy Father, head of over a billion Catholics, as a Swedish politician and focus on this, while we know how the Christians are treated in Israel, is to say the least, gutsy, says a Catholic to Frihetsnytt.

  1. Måwe does not represent Sweden as she is paid to do. She is an agent for Israel, a Judas against the Swedish people. She is probably Jewish. An example of the Migration Agency's mismanagement to grant residence permits to people who lack loyalty to the Swedes
