Poll: This bloc would win if there were an election today

A new opinion poll from SVT/Verian shows that the opposition is increasing its lead over the Tidö parties. The difference between the blocks now amounts to 10.7 percentage points, which according to SVT is the largest since August 2023.

The survey also shows that the Tidö parties are losing support among male voters - a group that has previously been one of the right-wing bloc's strongest voter bases. According to Verian, support among men has dropped by four percentage points since April, which is considered statistically significant.

Voters go to both the opposition and the sofa

According to SVT's reporting, the Tidö parties lost a total of 1.5 percentage points compared with the previous survey. Some voters are switching to the opposition parties, while others say they no longer know which party they would vote for.

The Social Democrats remain the largest party in the poll with 32.5%. The Sweden Democrats are at 18.9%, while the Conservatives have 17.2%. The Green Party clearly increases and reaches 7.9 percent.

The Liberals remain below the parliamentary threshold. This has been identified as a problem for the government base in several opinion polls for some time.

Continued strong support on several issues

While the block difference is growing, previous Verian surveys show that the Tidö parties still have strong support on several political issues. This is particularly true in areas such as law and order, immigration, defense and the economy.

Verian has also previously noted that the differences between male and female voters are historically large. Women are more inclined to vote for the red-green parties, while men are more likely to support the right-wing parties.

Four months to go until the elections

Parliamentary elections will be held on September 13, 2026, so opinion can still change significantly before voters go to the polls.

SVT/Verian's voter barometer is based on around 3,000 interviews conducted by the Sifo panel.

Other parties are growing!

In the survey, other parties are also growing and now amount to a full 2.9 percent. Among the parties outside the Riksdag are Alternativ för Sverige, Ambition Sverige, Örebropartiet, Medborgerlig Samling and others.

Unfortunately, it is not clear from the survey which of these parties receives which support.
