The Sweden Democrats in Gothenburg want the municipality to stop accepting refugees altogether. The party argues that the city needs a ”breathing space” and that it no longer has the financial means or capacity to accept more.
The background to this is the legislative change that took effect this summer, which gives municipalities greater influence over where new arrivals will settle. The Sweden Democrats in Gothenburg now want to make full use of that leeway to stop the intake of new arrivals.
”We cannot support any more people”
According to the SD, the situation in Gothenburg is already strained, with major challenges in the areas of housing, education, and healthcare. The party believes it is unreasonable to continue accepting people who need long-term social assistance.
– We can't support more people who live far away from here, is the message from the SD’s group leader in Gothenburg, Jörgen Fogelklou.
The party wants the municipality to prioritize those who already live in the city instead of accepting new refugees.
Greater municipal influence
The new legislation has given municipalities greater leeway to determine the placement of newly arrived immigrants. Several municipalities across the country have already begun to use this leeway to reduce or completely halt the intake of new arrivals.
The Sweden Democrats in Gothenburg believe it is now time for Gothenburg to do the same. The party will raise the issue in the city council and hopes to gain support from other parties to halt the continued reception of refugees.

Well, they're NOT so-called refugees.
And if any of the newcomers happen to be that way anyway, they’ll of course go back home once the so-called war is over.
NO... OUT.
That's how it is…
