It has now come to light that the pastoral position was never advertised—while several observers warn that the process could undermine confidence in both the church and the hiring process.
In October 2023, the Strängnäs Cathedral Parish decided to hire a new pastor who would be responsible for, among other things, the Domkyrkoberget project. The next day, Birgitta Ed in his application. The position was never advertised, and Ed was the only applicant, according to Daily News (DN). She was later hired for the position.
