The government cites reduced asylum immigration, lower inflation and reduced deadly violence as evidence that the policy has worked. But a review of the figures shows that several key promises have not been fulfilled - while large parts of the policy are still not implemented.
When the Tidö parties on Tuesday afternoon presented sit ”financial statements” In the run-up to the election, the focus was clearly on concrete figures. Inflation, previously around 10%, has been pushed down to below 2%. Household finances are described as strengthened, with over SEK 5,000 more per month compared to 2022.
Crime policy is also highlighted. Deadly gang violence is said to have been halved, and by January 2026 the reduction will be as high as 75% compared to previous levels. But in the same context, the Prime Minister noted Ulf Kristersson:
- What this really means is that half remains.
This means that even where the government points to clear results, many of the problems remain.
- Sweden is on the right track but we are not there yet. We are proud but we are not satisfied, said Kristersson and was nevertheless clear
Migration - less asylum, more immigration
The most important issue in the Tidö agreement was migration. Here, there is a clear change in one part of the system: asylum immigration is at its lowest in 40 years. At the same time, figures show that immigration In 2025, around 89 000 people immigrated to Sweden. Almost 200 000 new citizenships have been granted in recent years.

It's about other routes into the country, such as labor, relatives and students. This means that the inflow has not been stopped, but continues in other forms. The government has implemented several measures to tighten controls.
These include more extensive use of biometrics, more internal checks and longer re-entry bans - but these measures affect how the system works, not how many people actually come.
Returns - small volumes despite increases
The government states that returns have increased by around 60% since 2022. But the increase is from low levels. In practice, it is still thousands of people per year, not tens of thousands.
At the same time, several obstacles remain. Many deportations are not carried out, and decisions can be blocked by appeals or problems with identity and destination countries.
Several of the measures that could change this are still under investigation. These include the possibility of deporting people linked to criminal networks without a criminal conviction. This means that the results so far are limited in relation to the problem.
Many decisions - few finished results
The government's financial statement is 129 pages long and includes several reforms. However, a large proportion of these are not ready-made changes, but:
- investigations
- missions to authorities
- decisions that have not yet taken effect
This means that many of the changes presented are not yet visible in practice.
More tools - but problems remain
In the field of criminal policy, the state has been given more tools. These include coercive measures, search zones and other powers for the police and judiciary. .
The aim is to push back crime. At the same time, the government's own figures show that the job is not done. The reduction in lethal violence means that much of the problem still remains.
A middle ground
The figures in the government's own financial statements show that some changes have taken place. Asylum immigration has decreased, inflation has been pushed down and some crime has declined. At the same time, several of the key targets have not been met:
- Immigration continues on a large scale
- Return rates are at relatively low levels
- Major reforms are not implemented
The overall result is that much has been decided, but less has been fully implemented.

The talk of reduced asylum immigration is just a trick with words as the number of immigrants is largely the same now but only with other names. The Betrayal Democrats have really shown that they cannot be trusted but are like the rest of the 8-clover vote in new fresh forces in the fall elections that really put the Swede first.
Agree
