The Save Europe Act is growing into a European movement that challenges the EU\u2019s migration policy. But the path is fraught with bans on demonstrations and attacks from political opponents. Helena Tapper reports on the \u201dEuropean Shield Tour,\u201d which, despite the setbacks, continues its journey through Europe.<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Save Europe Act<\/a><\/strong> was initiated by Eva Vlaardingerbroek<\/strong> from the Netherlands and Martin Sellner<\/strong> from Austria on May 30, 2026. The purpose of the \u201cSave Europe Act\u201d European Citizens\u2019 Initiative is to call on the European Commission to impose a moratorium on non-Western immigration to Europe and to implement comprehensive reforms of the EU\u2019s migration and asylum policies. For this to happen, at least one million signatures are needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201dEuropean Shield Tour\u201d<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

On August 1, 2026, the Save Europe Act took effect \u201dEuropean Shield Tour\u201d<\/em> in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The purpose of the tour is to convey the message of the Save Europe Act directly to the people of Europe and to bring together patriots who refuse to give up on Europe\u2019s future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tour has so far taken place in several countries and cities across Europe. On August 22, for example, the tour was in Barcelona, Spain. In Barcelona, several politicians from the right-wing nationalist political party VOX participated in the \u201dEuropean Shield Tour.\u201d Both activists and politicians demonstrated together in Barcelona in support of a European Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, there have been setbacks along the way. For example, French authorities banned the planned demonstration as part of the \u201dEuropean Shield Tour\u201d in Lille, France, on August 8. They claimed that a demonstration promoting such ideas threatens \u201dhuman dignity.\u201d This was despite the fact that it was a peaceful demonstration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Left-wing activists from Antifa strike<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

One day before the \u201dEuropean Shield Tour\u201d stop in Copenhagen, Denmark, on October 17, left-wing activists from Antifa struck. They targeted Sebastian<\/strong>, who is the national organizer for the Save Europe Act in Denmark. They smashed the windows of his car, slashed all four tires, and stole thousands of stickers and posters. It was a deliberate attempt to stop the demonstration before it had even begun. Sebastian\u2019s response was clear:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201dThis constant terrorism from the left is, unfortunately, the norm in Western Europe. Our governments ignore it, but that won\u2019t stop us.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Copenhagen, the \u201dEuropean Shield Tour\u201d will continue on to Warsaw, Poland, and then to Hamburg and Munich, Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite setbacks\u2014or perhaps precisely because of them\u2014the Save Europe Act shows that this is a movement that neither the establishment nor the left can silence or stop. The Save Europe Act is therefore a movement to be reckoned with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
