Katja Nyberg is leaving politics behind and pursuing a new career. The former Sweden Democrats politician and police officer is starting a detective agency that, among other things, will expose infidelity—but the business idea has previously drawn criticism from the Police Authority.
The former SD member Katja Nyberg gets started the KN Agency detective agency. The announcement was made on Facebook on Wednesday, just over two weeks after her term in the Riksdag ended.
”Life changes. So do I. Now I’m taking the next step with KN Agency.”
The detective agency offers services such as background checks, private investigations, and surveillance of individuals suspected of infidelity. Nyberg highlights his extensive experience in law enforcement as one of the agency’s strengths.
Received criticism from the employer
This isn't the first time Nyberg has tried to launch a detective agency. As early as 2023, Expressen reported that she had been marketing similar services while working at the National Operations Department (NOA) of the police.
A police chief had previously concluded that the operation risked damaging the agency's reputation and raising questions about the police's impartiality.
Nyberg explained at the time that it was merely a business idea. In a new written statement to Expressen, she states that the company had not previously been registered and did not have F-tax status.
Still awaiting trial
At the same time, Nyberg is facing charges including driving under the influence, drug offenses, and aggravated driving without a license following the car accident on Värmdö in December 2025.
She denies the charges, with the exception of one count of aggravated driving without a license.
The trial was scheduled to begin on September 21 but was postponed after the defense requested additional information from the investigation. A new date has not yet been set.

Is Nyberg wrong to try to find a way to make a living so he can survive?
It probably won't be as sharp as the ladies' detective agency 😀
Former police officers become private investigators and are then hired by the police or Sapo to commit illegal acts. For example, the break-in at TV4, which was investigating HSB. Standard modus operandi.
